UITextField where are the values kept?

Question

I created simple gui, with 3 UITextField

Added a button, when click submit, for the test I have printed the 3 text values... which I type in the text box of each field... what am I missing here? should I keep it to the disk of the mobile device before.. submit?

Now when the gui prompt, I am entering just test as a string in the UITextField field and click submit, I am expecting to see the test string as value, instead I see null.

Ideas?

You define three IBOutlet properties suggesting that your text fields are to be loaded from a nib file when your view is loaded.

Once your view is loaded you create assign the ivars backing those properties to point to new text fields. This leaks any text fields you actually loaded from your nib. It also leaves you with properties which point to text fields which have not been added to your view and which are not visible.

You then enter text into one of the text fields in your view (loaded from your nib) and wonder why the entirely different text field you created in -viewDidLoad does not contain the text you entered.
