I've a client/server program, now I want to handle signals. When the client closes the connection (if for example I close the terminal), the server has to handle a SIGPIPE, am I right? I'd like to implement something like this. Is it possible?

write(). If it comes back with -1 anderrnoset to EINTR, you can suspect you got a SIGPIPE, especially if you don't have any other signal handling set. Of course, you should be looking at the return value fromwrite()— andread()— anyway. You do not want to recursively callmain()from your signal handler. You can write a loop inmain(), and have the signal handler set a flag which you test in the loop. Per Standard C, about the only thing you can do in a signal handler is modify a variable or exit. - Jonathan Leffler
