Windows OS to remember to install again with license

I wanted to try and install a Linux based OS on my laptop and I have licensed windows OS which data/information should I retain so that I could reinstall windows again in the future with the same configurations ass now?

FYI: I wanted to install Ubuntu

You don't even have to uninstall windows. You can create a separate partition on your drive and allocate that to linux. You can look up dual-booting on Youtube, there are many guides that can walk you through it
