How to plot points like (1-2) 4 points on graph in x and y-axes respectively in gnuplot?

I want to plot points like: (1-2) 5 (3-4) 6 (5-6) 9 in Gnuplot. I've tried the usual way of plotting but this one shows an error. Please help.
