I'm new to Microsoft access databases and the developers before me left no notes on how they designed/worked with these databases, so please explain with that in mind.

I work at a place where data is collected manually by many users, and I can see that each user has their own database file (to keep track of mistakes/changes made in their environment). If I want to make an update to the database and front end user interface (that they see), do I go through the original MDB file and make the changes there by using ALT + F11? I also think that file is saved locally and not on the public drive so if I make changes to that MDB file, I dont think it will reflect on their files.

Also when I click the files in the shared drive, I believe they are locked and can't be edited because it only shows me the Home and File tabs, and Alt + F11 doesn't open any source code.
