Everytime I try to build a release version from my Android app

it fires this issue on the console

A few months late, but I just had the exact same error message come up and solved my issue. I didn't see any info about this elsewhere so putting this here in case it helps someone.

I was also using expo-camera (I saw your comment about expo-camera in your android/build.gradle), and noticed a custom cameraview was bundled with it. As the error message pointed out that there was a duplicated dependency issue with something about the cameraview, I checked to see if I had any unused dependencies with

npx depcheck -g

I had left two dependencies installed after testing them out, namely react-native-beautiful-video-recorder and react-native-camera, both of which use the camera, so I uninstalled both and when I tried building a release build again, the build was completed successfully.
