I am using docx4j version: '8.1.4'.

I have update to 8.1.4 recently and after update generated document says below while opening. It says "Only a default namespace can have an empty URI"

Document.xml is as below..
'''?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"? w:document xmlns:w="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/wordprocessingml/2006/main" xmlns:m="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/officeDocument/2006/math" xmlns:sl="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/schemaLibrary/2006/main" xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006" xmlns:r="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/officeDocument/2006/relationships" xmlns:wp="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/drawingml/2006/wordprocessingDrawing" xmlns:a="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/drawingml/2006/main" xmlns:ns0="" xmlns:wp14="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/word/2010/wordprocessingDrawing" xmlns:w16se="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/word/2015/wordml/symex" xmlns:w14="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/word/2010/wordml" xmlns:w15="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/word/2012/wordml" xmlns:w16cid="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/word/2016/wordml/cid" mc:Ignorable="w14 w15 w16se w16cid w16 w16cex wp14" w:body!-- Modified by docx4j 8.1.4 (Apache licensed) using ECLIPSELINK_MOXy JAXB in Oracle Java 11.0.2 on Windows 10 '''

Please help me in understanding what might be going wrong here..

Please try 8.1.5 or later: docx4java.org/forums/announces/docx4j-8-1-5-released-t2894.html If that doesn't help, please send me your docx and I will take a look.JasonPlutext
Hi Jason, Seems like the issue is happening when I try to edit my old working templates with new MS-Word. I see some changes in document element as provided in the question above. Please let me know if this is fixed in any further release or planning to do?Nikhith Birru
The main issue with your docx (besides the fact that it was created with 8.1.4 which doesn't help), seems to be that it contains xmlns:ns0="". The question is why? Could you please send me the source docx? You are using MOXy. Not sure at this stage whether that matters.JasonPlutext
Thanks, but can't replicate using current docx4j. What version of MOXy are you using? Does it happen if you use the JAXB Ref Impl instead.JasonPlutext
I am using.. compile group: 'org.docx4j', name: 'docx4j-core', version: '8.1.4' compile group: 'org.docx4j', name: 'docx4j-JAXB-MOXy', version: '8.1.4Nikhith Birru

It seems docx4j-JAXB-MOXy-8.1.4 might write xmlns:ns0=""

Fixed by docx4j-JAXB-MOXy-8.1.5 (current release is 8.1.7).
