Getting java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.springframework.boot.builder.SpringApplicationBuilder after updating spring cloud version to Brixton.SR6

Question

I am working on spring boot and cloud configuration. i want to use spring ribbon, hence after updating Brixton.SR6 started getting below exception:

Spring Cloud Brixton is for Spring Boot 1.3 (and might work on 1.4). You are using Spring Boot 2.3 for which Spring CLoud Brixton isn't designed/build. — M. Deinum
Could you please suggest the right version of spring cloud supported for 2.3.0.RELEASE , I need to use ribbon load balancer along with spring-cloud-starter-feign. — user2319276
Officially there isn't a Spring Cloud version for Spring Boot 2.3 yet. You can try the latest release train (or just don't use Spring Boot 2.3). — M. Deinum
Brixton has not been supported for a long time now. Hoxton.SR5 with official Spring Boot 2.3 support is coming this month. — OlgaMaciaszek

I stumbled on exactly the same issue today. My Spring Boot version is 2.1.5.RELEASE. Tried with the latest Spring Cloud release train as suggested above, didn't help...
