PHP Laravel : Access denied for user 'homestead'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

Can someone explain why I got this error and how to solve this? I read several same stackoverflow question but still doesn't work.

 PDOException in Connector.php line 119:
 SQLSTATE[HY000] [1045] 
 Access denied for user 'homestead'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

Are you able to connect to your MySQL server from the shell using mysql -u homestead -p? – Ildar Akhmetov
Be sure to clear cache&config when "the artisan serve" is not running. In "a *nix environment", use the number of a a non-privileged port if you are not running this as root. – greybeard

Try to clear config cache like:

php artisan config:cache

Did you try to assign your database values to the DB_FIELDS ?

DB_DATABASE=Database
DB_USERNAME=Username 
DB_PASSWORD=Password

example:

DB_CONNECTION=mysql
DB_HOST=127.0.0.1
DB_PORT=3306
DB_DATABASE=to-do-app-db
DB_USERNAME=root
DB_PASSWORD=""

Another option: php artisan config:clear

All the details you need to configure based on your mysql server.

DB_CONNECTION=mysql
DB_HOST=localhost
DB_PORT=3306
DB_DATABASE=homestead
DB_USERNAME=homestead
DB_PASSWORD=secret

For example if your are using xampp, go to your phpmyadmin, settings, user account to get your username and password. By default it will be root as username and password is null.
