I have a ASP Core project which targets the .NET 4.6.2 framework. In this project I have a reference to a custom dll (A.dll) which has a dependency on a certain local build of Newtonsoft.Json (v11.0.0). The NuGet packages I reference in this project also have a dependency on Netwtonsoft.Json (v10.0.0 or greater).
Specifically the following packages were added to the project:
- Microsoft.AspNetCore (2.0.1)
- Microsoft.AspNetCore.Authentication.JwtBearer (2.0.1)
- Microsoft.AspNetCore.Mvc (2.0.2)
The project builds just fine, but throws the following error at runtime:

It seems like the runtime cannot resolve the local build of Newtonsoft.Json.
When I try to add a reference to the local build of Newtonsoft.Json (the same dll as referenced by A.dll), I end up with the same version as referenced by the NuGet packages even tough I browsed to the exact version on my file system.
I have tries using a specific version of the dll, but then the project won't start up because it is unable to find version 10.0.0 (the one used by NuGet).
How can I force the NuGet packages to recognize my local Newtonsoft.Json is more recent and use that one? Or how can one resolve such issues?

thanks for your fast reply. I've tried your suggestion but it does not seem to work. I have added a NuGet of our Newtonsoft.Json. When I start my project I get following error :

So now eventough I have added version 11.0.0 he does not seem to find version 10.0.0. In the [app].exe.config if see the following :

Can it be because my custom build of Newtonsoft.Json was not singed and has a public key token of null?
