From version 6 the modul.xml has to be extended by <module name="javax.xml.bind.api"/>

<module xmlns="urn:jboss:module:1.1" name="com.microsoft">
  <resources>
    <resource-root path="sqljdbc4.jar"/>
  </resources>
  <dependencies>
    <module name="javax.api"/>
    <module name="javax.xml.bind.api"/>
    <module name="javax.transaction.api"/>
  </dependencies>
</module>
