I bought a VPS hosting and a domain name . I have linked the domain name and nameservers of the VPS. But I am not able to access my website through the domainname. I was able to access it through the IP address. I have a basic html page deployed to the Apache server on the VPS machine.

Actually i installed a webmin CPanel in the CentOS 7 based VPS. I created two nameservers(ns1.mydomainname.in and ns2.mydomainname.in) using the cpanel and I have set the domain nameservers to these nameservers that I have created.

But all terminal requests like PING NSLOOKUP are failing. Can't figureout why. I am new to VPS hosting. All I have been using so far are the shared hosting and cloud services. Please help me to solve this problem.

Maybe your DNS server configurations or hostname is not working as it should. The easies fix for me would be using CouldFlare.com DNS and there set A records to your server.

But if not try to check if your DNS records applied to the domain with whois etc. Then check if your BIND i think server is working as it should the easiest will be to check domain with other name server like CF.

After creating the name servers you need to register them at your domain registrar end in order to make them active .

So login to your domain registrar provider and register your name servers there , if you are not aware of it then contact the support of the domain registrar and they will do it for you. After which you should see your website working.
