OS X 10.10.3. What can cause the following crash in Cocoa document based document app? It occurs only when a window save popup panel disappeared: save popup panel

if a "file already exists" alert sheet appears: replacing alert sheet

UPDATE: sometimes the app crashes also when simply close the popup but with guarantee when alert sheet appears.

This seems like a genuine OS bug. You didn't create/manipulate the popover but there's a memory management bug causing this crash when the system save panel / popover is invoked. I would file a detailed bug report with bugreporter.apple.com and work with them. - Joshua Nozzi
Yes, I will file a bug report. But the strange thing: I have two document-based projects. Both of them crashed like this. But simple rebuilding one of them in the latest Xcode removed the crash. And not another one... Moreover standard app like TextEdit doesn't show this crash... - Igor

I changed Base SDK from 10.9 to 10.10 in my app and it solved the problem. As I see crash occurs only on 10.10.3 and higher system version. If you want to crash TextEdit just change Base SDK to 10.9 or open TextEdit 1.9 or earlier version. Also someone already wrote radar http://openradar.appspot.com/20991953
