I am using eclipse. When I am running my maven web project with spring I got the following error:

I believe this is because the WEB-INF/lib is empty, while the dependencies should be placed by maven to that folder.

The pom file I have is as followed. Just to be clear, I do have the oracle jar file for ojdbc6 copied to my local .m2 folder.

<project xmlns="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0 http://maven.apache.org/xsd/maven-4.0.0.xsd">

I also have configured the deployment assembly:

Please tell me where went wrong, thank you!!

This is your whole pom.xml file?proulxs
@proulxs it wasn't - I've edited to add the rest of my pom file here. Thanks!jamesdeath123
How are you deploying this? Need more details. You're correct in that Maven puts your dependencies in WEB-INF/lib but this is in the /target/projectname/WEB-INF/lib folder.proulxs
What is the "Deployment Assembly"-Option? Is it really used by maven, or just by eclipse? If you want to use the assembly-plugin of maven, you need to reference it in the pom.treeno

Maven is not able to find the class " org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet".

Try to configure Apache Tomcat properly looks like you have issue with your (Servlets Loading)Apache.
