Android studio 3.6.1: A failure occurred while executing com.android.build.gradle.internal.tasks.Workers$ActionFacade

I recently updated gradle and android studio to 3.6.1 version. but, it always fails to build apk file and show the following error:

How can I solve this issue?

Various bug reports mention that installing Windows Universal C Runtime manually helps. See if that helps.

  1. Try to install or Update Universal C Runtime in Windows Package on your machine:- https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/update-for-universal-c-runtime-in-windows-c0514201-7fe6-95a3-b0a5-287930f3560c
  2. Restart your Android studio.
