I have this dataframe:

The idea is to multiply each row of the first dataframe by the rows of the second data frame by the groups of my first dataframe that are: setosa, versicolor and virginica, and create a new dataframe to store the results.

In other words it would be this result I want to have:

Setosa Group:
    15.55940*5.1 +  (-1.248103)*3.5 + 3.571978*1.4 = 79.98535
    15.55940*4.9 +  (-1.248103)*3.0 + 3.571978*1.4 = 77.49752
....

Then after with versicolor Group And the last group virginica

These results should be stored in a new dataframe (with 150 rows, which is the length of my second dataframe columns, and 3 columns which are the 3 groups) with the others products

As you can see, it is a simple Matrix Product.

How can I do this using the dplyr package?

There are lots of ways, here is one possible approach:

The dplyr way to do things is to make explicit functions of column names. And we just use a join to bring the right coefficeints to each row

For example

d1 %>% left_join(d2, by=c("Date"="Species")) %>% mutate(
  value = NS_Forecast_beta1*Sepal.Length + NS_Forecast_beta2* Sepal.Width + NS_Forecast_beta5*Petal.Length
)

If you really want some sort of matrix multiplication, you can nest the data in lists and perform the operations

library(purrr)

dd <- d1 %>% nest(-Date, .key="beta") %>%
  left_join(d2 %>% nest(-Species, .key="obs"), by=c("Date"="Species")) %>%
