Win7-64, Python 3.6. After upgrading tensorflow to 1.8, following text

import tensorflow as tf
hello = tf.constant('Hello, TensorFlow!')
sess = tf.Session()
print(sess.run(hello))

gives errors:

I was having a similar problem. Performing the below steps solved this issue:

  • pip uninstall tensorflow
  • pip install tensorflow

You may also try:

  • conda install tensorflow (If you have anaconda installed)
