I wrote an emulator for the Intel 8080, and I want to check if my implemented instructions are correct. Is there a test suite or a way to test each instruction if its correct?

My emulator is written in C.

Unfortunately the brouhaha links are all long dead. So I'll try to post a more comprehensive answer which does not rely on links.

What you are looking for are the suite of 8080/8085 CPU Diagnostic exercises. I've found three which together make up quite a comprehensive test suite.

  • 8080/8085 CPU Diagnostic, version 1.0, by Microcosm Associates
  • Diagnostics II, version 1.2, CPU test by Supersoft Associates
  • 8080/8085 CPU Exerciser by Ian Bartholomew and Frank Cringles
